Day 12 & 13: The Fair and The Recovery !

Here is the link to my original Day 12 and Day 13 on Nutrisystem. It was Tuesday January 15, 2019 and Wednesday January 16. My headline for those days was "Trust The Wait" and "Be The Light". I was still adjusting to the thought of losing my job but I had hope for the future. I was thinking about what life might look like now if I had been laid off in 2019. It would have been hard, because I had all that credit card debt. Would it have been easier to find a new job ? I'll never know and I still believe things happen for a reason and I will end up where I am supposed to be.

I didn't write yesterday as I was out all day for the Fair. It ended up being a much longer day than I expected. I left the house about 9:20 am and got home at 11:57 pm ! I didn't expect to be out and about for nearly 15 hours. The weather turned out perfect - mid 70's with clouds and sun. My weight was a huge problem as it didn't take long for my feet to start hurting. Even so, I enjoyed the day. I had Tully's Tenders with fries for lunch and then a delicious apple wine slushie. Later I had a waffle sundae with sliced strawberries, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It was amazingly good ! After than I had a "fat frog red" wine slushie from Montezuma Winery. They're a favorite for me and for Kim. I picked up 2 large cones of butter toffee pecans and cashews. I skipped cheese and fudge as the cheese is over priced and available in local grocery stores at a lower price. I skipped the fudge because it's not really a favorite of mine and it's all sugar. It's also super expensive ! Around 5:30 we headed over to Suburban Park, which is the on site free concert venue. We were going to see Flo Rida at 8 pm but Kim said we needed to get there early if we wanted a seat. That was so true as it was already filling up when we got there. The show didn't start until nearly 8:30 but instead of the main attraction it started with an up and coming female rapper named Oya Baby. Not really my music taste and the lyrics and gyrations on stage were definitely not for kids. It was nearly 9 pm before Flo Rida hit the stage and his set was fabulous. I was amazed at how much he interacted with the crowd. Joe even got to "high five" him as he was carried through the crowd on the shoulders of a crew member. I wish I had my camera out ! He also brought women and men (at different times) up on the stage to sing and dance and take selfies. I've never seen an entertainer so engaged with the fans ! It was after 10 when the show ended and Joe headed off to buy pizza fritte while Kim and I tried to find the glazed donut concession. We didn't find it but lucky for us Joe did ! We met back up with him at the front gates and headed home. Sitting so long at the concert venue gave me enough of a break to be able to manage the long walk from the concert venue to the car, but I was about at the end of my endurance. When I got home I fed Minnie and sat down with a glass of milk and my pizza fritte. I was so tired and when I was falling asleep on the couch I forced myself to go upstairs, even though the thought of walking up the stairs was daunting. In the end I made it to bed but then couldn't sleep ! I put on the Waymo live stream and eventually went to sleep.

I forced myself to get up shortly after 9 am because I knew the cats would be starving. Once they were fed I sat down with a hot cup of coffee and a glazed donut. They are so good but they are definitely smaller. Another victim of shrinkage ! Late morning I had a second donut. I had a pepperoni pizza melt for lunch, I'm not sure what time that was. Dinner was some amazing eggplant parmesan that Joe shared with me. It was so good ! There was enough for 2 meals but I ate the entire thing. He is processing eggplant for the freezer in 9-15 and invited me to come over. Barb is planning to go over too. I would call this the only plant based meal that I enjoy ! I added a little romano cheese for a little extra flavor. I spent the entire day on the couch, though I did take a shower and wash my hair around 5 pm. Tomorrow is my actual birthday and I have a $30 voucher for the casino that will expire, along with a $50 voucher for the shops. I may treat myself and go to Turning Stone for a couple hours. I ate the last glazed donut for my evening snack, even though I was still a little full from dinner.
