Day 37: Oops, I Did It Again !

Here is the link to my original Day 37. It was  Saturday February 9, 2019. My headline that day was "Good Intentions". I was trying to get motivated to use the treadmill but I couldn't find the instructions for it, so I gave up. I was happy to have lost 24 pounds, which is right where I am now. I still find it so strange that this new journey and my original journey have collided on the same day. I still think this a good sign ! I've decided to put the Total Gym away for now. I used it for a short time last night and I'm just not at a place where it can be effective. Bottom line: I'm too fat.


When I fed the stray cats this morning my pregnant mama was not there. She turned up later and had clearly had her kittens ! She no longer looked like a watermelon and I noticed a little blood stain near her tail. Hopefully her little ones are doing well. I'm tempted to go see if they're in the little house I put out there, but I don't want to her to move them if they are. So I'll mind my business ! I really hope I get a job soon so that I can start feeding them canned food twice a day. I promised that if I got the Accenture job I would do that (because of the salary) but I'm going to do it regardless of the salary I get. Whatever job I get, I will share my good fortune with them. They have plenty of dry food every day, but they love the canned food.


Below is what I achieved today. I am focusing on what I did today and not looking back to what I did or didn't do yesterday.

I took a shower early today because I was afraid I would again let the day get away from me and not do it. I also changed the sheets on the bed. I spent some time on the couch watching YouTube and playing Cookie Jam but once I went upstairs to shower, Minnie took over my seat on the couch. After I combed out my hair and got dressed I was going to get on the treadmill, but the air conditioner in the office window caught my eye. I decided to take care of that first ! I made sure to clear my path from the window to the garage before I got started and made sure I had a couple places to set it down, since I can't carry it the whole distance at once. The dang thing is heavy ! I manage to get it out to the garage without incident, when sat on the couch to have a second cup of coffee and catch my breath. I finally made it to the treadmill just before 3:30 pm and put in 14m9s.


Breakfast was a 270 calorie breakfast sandwich. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. Afternoon snack was an 80 calorie cheese stick and 100 calorie crackers. Dinner was 260 calorie roasted turkey with mashed potatoes and steamed carrots. Evening snack was a 140 calorie chocolate cupcake.


I ended up sitting in my office to sort out my blogs because Minnie had my seat in the living room. While I was in here I cleared the top of my desk and set up the tv again. I checked in on Hulu and I'm going to start watching Gray's Anatomy. This is a critically acclaimed show that I never watched, so it will be all new to me. Once I catch up on the letsdig18 video's, I won't have anything but new YouTube content to watch and it's going to be a long winter ! I figure it makes sense to start watching a series of some sort. I pay $19.99 a month for the Disney/Hulu bundle so I need to start using it ! I also spent some time clearing out my email accounts. It's easier to remove all the junk using Outlook on my PC.


Tomorrow is my interview and is both nervous and excited about it. I really hope they offer me a job.


Today is day 37 and I am finally starting to feel like I'm making progress. I haven't "cheated", though I've been tempted ! Last night I thought about having some pretzels or taking some to bed with me, but I didn't. I haven't been to the grocery store so I'm still not using whipped cream. However, I've rethought this one. I can manage the chocolate cupcake by itself, because it has a bit of frosting. However, the lemon cake is just awful without whipped cream. I am going to allow myself to use whipped cream but I'm going to really work hard to use small amounts. I also have sugar free jello, so I'm going to make some of that. The jello is what started the whipped cream addiction ! I started out with a small squirt, instead of half a can !


My Nutrisystem order shipped today and is expected to be delivered tomorrow. It's a good thing, because I'm on my last breakfast item and my last evening snack item. In a pinch I could make biscuits or the corn bread that I impulse bought last time I shopped.


I'm still using the "hot mess express" image on my blog because I'm still working on settling into a good routine. I need consistency if I want to be successful and I'm not there yet. I'm making progress but I still have a lot of work to do.


I've smartened up a little when it comes to fall temperatures. I had the front and back doors open today but I closed the back door after a couple hours as I could feel the chill in the house. I closed the front door late this afternoon just to keep the warmth in the house. I didn't open any of the windows downstairs either. As a result, the house is plenty warm enough without the heat or a space heater.


I finished up the laundry today and also folded the Total Gym and put it in my office. Tomorrow I plan to get the dishes washed and the kitchen back in shape. I might also fold up the tv box and get that out onto the porch.
