Day 47 & 48: Lesson Learned ?

 





Thursday October 2, 2024 and Friday October 3, 2024


Here is the link to my original Day 47 and Day 48. It was  Tuesday February 18 and Wednesday February 19. My headline for Day 47 was "Bumps In The Road" and "Be Kind. I was fighting a cold and not feeling well. That meant no exercise but I was sticking to Nutrisystem. I'm glad to be healthy on the current Day 47 & 48 !


I didn't write anything yesterday for no specific reason. I spent most of the day playing watching YouTube and playing Cookie Jam. The weekly challenge required completing levels on the first try and I was determined to win that. It was hard and more challenging as the player in 2nd place kept taking the lead. I ended up playing the game in bed until 3 am and then scrolling my phone because I couldn't get to sleep I think I finally dropped off around 5 am ! I was repeating a challenge that provides 50 free coins while also holding off the 2nd place player. I had intended to exercise and I had intended to write but I wasn't motivated enough to do either. I had gotten dressed, put on my shoes and loaded up the workout ... but then Minnie climbed into my lap to snooze. I guess maybe that was a sign. Today was pretty much a repeat of yesterday until the challenges ended at 4 pm. I was never so happy to see a challenge end as the 2nd place player fought until about the last hour. I ended up beating her by 8 levels. Sorry Barbara ! I had to spend all my coins and most of my power-ups, but that is what they are for and they cost me nothing. This is the only game I play that has generous rewards and free lives. Right now I have something like 49 days of free lives and you continually earn them. I think I'm on level 5451 and I was at something like 1700 when I got laid off. I'm #18 in my group of 50 people, which isn't bad. Today I also got dressed and put on my shoes to exercise but I also made my shake. It's 5:15 now and I'll be heading to the treadmill soon.


Here's what I've eaten the past 2 days:

Day 47: waffles with sugar free syrup, pepperoni pizza melt, yogurt, crackers, creamy chicken alfredo with riced cauliflower, chocolate cupcake with whipped cream

Day 48: cinnamon roll, yogurt, crackers (finished the bag), pepperoni pizza melt, green beans, meatloaf sandwich, lemon zest cake with whipped cream.


I mentioned that I finished the bag of crackers today. That's only because I was a prisoner on the couch battling to stay in first place on Cookie Jam. 


I had fun at rock & roll bingo Wednesday and almost won a game. I did do the "walk of shame" thinking I had 4 of 5, but it turned out I only had 2 of 5. Ouch. That was humiliating and I think the DJ felt bad. I didn't care. I go for the fun. It was only Kim & Joe and I and we shared a pizza and chicken tenders. I had 2 slices of pizza, 2 tenders and 2 Michelob Ultra. Joe, who never gets dessert, wanted something sweet after dinner. Doesn't he come back to the table with strawberry shortcake in a large cup (which looked amazing), along with 2 giant chocolate chip cookies ! I had a small piece of one of the cookies and that was it. I was proud of myself for not having more.


I didn't get up until almost 10 am, which sounds late until you think about the fact that I was still awake at 5 am. Hopefully I'll be able to get to sleep at a decent hour tonight. With the Cookie Jam challenges over I can just play the game for fun until the new challenges are released on Tuesday.


I haven't looked for or applied to any jobs this week. I'll spend some time on that tomorrow. Today I took some time to review my bills and my bank account to ensure everything is in order. Since I don't have paychecks coming in I need to keep track of everything and ensure I transfer money to cover the bills. I also like to check in on my accounts to ensure there is no fraud taking place. 


I really didn't accomplish much yesterday, other than cutting up the bag of mini peppers I bought at Wegman's. It made sense to just make one mess and it'll be easier to just grab a couple to cut into my salads. Today I finally addressed the very grimy window on the porch door. I grabbed the Windex and cleaned it inside and out. I'm finding that doing little tasks each day is less overwhelming than thinking about all the little things I need to do around the house. I'm planning to have everyone for pasta on 11-10, so I have about a month to get the entire house clean.


In the end I never made it to the treadmill. It was too late in the day and I was tired. The trade off for that is going to be 3 workouts tomorrow.


Below is what I achieved today. I am focusing on what I do each day, and not looking back to what I did or didn't do any other day.
