Day 57 & 58: A Mixed Bag

 





Sunday October 13 and Monday October 14, 2024


Here is the link to my original Day 57 and Day 58. It was  Friday February 28 and Saturday March 1, 2019. My headline for those days were Be Who You Were Meant To Be and New Mindset/New Lifestyle. I was waxing poetic about losing the weight and keeping it off. Well, clearly I didn't succeed at keeping it off and here I am again ! I was also still fighting my cold off and not exercising. Beyond that not much else was going on in my life.


I didn't write on Sunday as whenever I'd think of it, Minnie would be wanting to sit in my lap and snooze. I did manage to change my bedding. It was time for flannel sheets and my winter comforter ! I got dressed with the best intentions of exercising, but it never happened. I spent the day on the couch watching YouTube, playing Cookie Jam and scrolling my phone. I got a shower and skin care in as well, so that was a plus !


Today dawned chilly, gray and wet ! As expected it's a drizzly ugly day out there. As of 1:45 pm it's only 40 degrees ! I was glad to be inside where it's warm and dry ! I woke up around 8:45 and headed downstairs to feed the cats. I'd have lazed in bed, but I knew the outdoor cats would be waiting for their breakfast. I spent the morning watching YouTube and playing Cookie Jam while Minnie snoozed on my lap. We have a morning routine now. As soon as I settle on the couch with my coffee and breakfast she is right there to hop on my lap for a nap. It's so peaceful and I treasure every minute with her.


Breakfast was 190 calorie pumpkin waffles with sugar free syrup. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt. Afternoon snack was an 80 calorie cheese stick and 120 calorie crackers. Dinner was a 260 calorie roasted turkey with mashed potatoes and steamed carrots. Evening snack was a 140 calorie chocolate cupcake with whipped cream. Late evening I had some of the maple pancake flavored cookies with a glass of milk. 


I managed to get myself on the treadmill about 12:45 and put in 20m on the Hairu beach walk. I do get a bit breathless but I think this workout is getting slightly easier. My heart rate peaked at 144 today, which is within my range. I think pushing myself with the 2.4 to 2.8 intervals is a good thing ! I managed to motivate myself back onto the treadmill later for another Road to Recovery with Tommy Rivs ! It was 20m53s and had some inclines that ranged from 2 to 6. Not gonna lie - 6% was tough but I pushed through it ! Most of the workout was at 2.3 mph because it was downhill. My treadmill doesn't decline but the speed changes anyway. My heart rate peaked at 128 during this slower workout, probably during the 6% incline .. lol ! I'm proud to have achieved 40m53s plus 14 minutes of warm up/cool down for a grand total of 54m53s on the treadmill today ! It was a couple minutes before 6 when I got off the treadmill for the last time today, but the time of the workout is irrelevant. I'm trying to avoid setting specific times to get on the treadmill because once I miss it, I tend to just give up. 


I fell off the wagon again when it comes to taking my vitamins, so that was back on the agenda today. However, by 6 pm I hadn't taken any so that will be pushed off to tomorrow. I read online that you should take B12 in the morning, since it's supposed to give you energy. We'll see how that works !


Below is what I achieved today. I am focusing on what I do each day, and not looking back to what I did or didn't do any other day. I hope that one day soon I won't need a checklist to ensure I do all of these everyday tasks !
