Day 71: Moving On

Sunday October 27, 2024

Here is the link to my original Day 71. It was Friday March 15, 2019. My headline for that day was "Finding Hope". This was a reference to the many years that my life seemed hopeless, and being thankful for the blessings that came my way starting with the fire. It's not often that someone is grateful for a fire ! I believe Tigger accidentally started the fire by turning on a stove burner while jumping up on top of the fridge. I had left a coffee pot sitting on the stovetop and it just so happened the burner that got turned on was the one the coffee pot was sitting on ! I am grateful that the house didn't burn to the ground, since all 5 of my cats were in it and I was at work !

I woke up just after 9 and had 4 stray cats to feed this morning. Minnie and I had our usual morning snuggle but when she hopped down just after 10 I took the opportunity to make my bed, get dressed, and brew a second cup of coffee. I forgot to make my shake ! After our second naptime, I made that shake, put the mums outside and changed the battery in the Ring doorbell.

In wonderful news, there was no blood in my stool this morning. Everything is completely normal ! That leads me to believe it was a reaction to the ibuprofen. I'm still planning on staying away from the vitamins for a week and will then decide if I want to start taking any of them again. For now, I've removed that item from my checklist. The multivitamins I had been taking expired in 2022 and an unopened bottle that was my moms expired in 2023. I've never liked them as they're huge and they tend to bother my stomach but .. "cash in the trash". Why ?!?! I threw them all away and it felt liberating ! I will buy a bottle of the gummy style vitamins that I used to take and liked. I also threw away the potassium. I don't need it. I think I can manage a gummy multivitamin, a calcium chew and perhaps a B12. I also threw away the 7 day vitamin box ! I'm going with "less is best" now. I feel like I want to start going through the house and throwing stuff away that I've been holding onto. I remember when my mom passed I didn't think she had that much, but she did ! A lot of it was clothing. She had a ton of it but much of it was not worn. She had a lot of puzzles too. I guess the winter months would be a good time to go through a lot of the "stuff" I have and get rid of whatever I can. My mom really didn't have a ton of stuff but it's exhausting for family to go through everything and decide what to do with it. My goal is to get rid of as much as possible so that my family doesn't have to spend days or weeks sorting through a bunch of junk. If nothing else, this project will keep me busy !

Breakfast was 180 calorie Eggo waffles with sugar free syrup. I never got around to eating my yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 240 calorie hamburger with ketchup and dill pickles. Afternoon snack was an 80 calorie cheese stick and 120 calorie crackers. Dinner was a 240 calorie creamy chicken alfredo over riced cauliflower. Evening snack was a 120 calorie oatmeal chocolate chip square with whipped cream. I also had a 100 calorie s'mores cluster.

I was sitting here on the couch enjoying the remains of my 2nd cup of coffee and watching YouTube while Minnie snoozed on my lap. I was minutes away from getting on the treadmill when I got a text saying my credit card payment was late. What !?!?!?! F no it's not late - I scheduled it for 10-26 several weeks ago ! My utility bill also had the same issue. Both were scheduled for 10-26 and both are stating the payment was missed. I sent a message to my bank to see if they've made some sort of change with how ACH payments are processed. I also called the credit card company and they confirmed the payment is not late and she could see it was scheduled on 10-4 to be paid on 10-26 and that it is processing. The agent said she would let their technical support people know (sure she will) but that there would be no late fee or anything like that on my account. I'll be interested to see what the bank has to say. I didn't bother to contact the utility company as the same thing happened with them last month and the agent told me there is a 3 day grace period before they charge a late fee, so that should be fine. By the time I got done chasing that it was after 1:30 and I was still mad. I used to avoid scheduling payments on weekends and I may go back to that, just for peace of mind. I thought it might have something to do with transferring money into checking the day before they payment date, but there was already enough in the account on 10-25 for the utility payment. The money I transferred in was to cover the credit card bill. This is going to bother me until I hear back from the bank, but there is nothing more I can do about it today. So, off to the treadmill !

My first workout was the Lafayette Beach walk and it was complete as of 2:22 pm. This is always the hardest 20m13s of the day, since it's cardio. My heart rate maxed out at 142, which is well within my 164/165 range. The remaining workouts of the day are slightly longer but slower paced. Workout #2 has some 5% incline in the beginning, #3 has a brief 5% and #4 has two brief 5% but it's all manageable !

By 3:34 I'd had lunch and it was time to get on the treadmill for workout #2. I didn't quite make it there right away, but by 4:24 workout #2 was in the books ! It was 21m3s in Italy. This one had a couple minutes of 5% incline in the beginning, which is never easy but I made it through it ! My heart rate maxed out at 123, which is great !

After my workout I sat down with my afternoon snack and the remains of yesterday's bottle of diet coke to watch a little YouTube.

Since Wednesday is going to be my day off the treadmill, this will also be my new grocery shopping day. This week I'll need to get gas, go to Wegman's and go to Walmart. I can buy the non-perishable stuff for my pasta dinner this week and then get the meat the following week. I'll cook the meatballs and sausage and freeze them, then cook my sauce on Saturday. I need to work on my grocery list over the next couple days !

Workout #3 was complete as of 6:08 pm ! It was 23m24s in Italy. My heart rate maxed out at 121, which is well below my max.

I made my dinner and fed Minnie after this workout, so I'll be fueled for workout #4, which happens to be the longest of the day at over 25m plus 7 minutes of warm up/cool down. Truthfully, I am not looking forward to this one !

It took me until 8:48 pm, but workout #4 is in the books ! It was 25m33s and I was super glad when it was over ! My heart rate maxed out at 123, which is great.

My total workout time today is 90m13s plus 28 minutes of warm up/cool down for a grand total of 118m13s. This might be the longest yet .. so close to 2 hours ! I'm at 96 workouts for 2024. My goal for 2025 is 500+ workouts and that is very reachable if I continue this pace. As of midnight, Fitbit says I completed 15,503 steps and burned 3,553 calories. Another amazing fitness day !

I did feel a bit weak after the last workout, so after I kicked off my shoes and went outside to bring the mums in I had a s'mores cluster. That 100 calorie sugar burst was exactly what I needed, as I felt stronger and more alert immediately ! I am pleasantly tired but still need to shower and clean litter boxes.

It's midnight and I've done everything but clean litter boxes. I will plan on cleaning them first thing tomorrow ! I haven't brushed my teeth the past 2 nights, so I really need to do that tonight. I am heading for bed now.

Below is what I achieved today. I am focusing on what I do each day, and not looking back to what I did or didn't do any other day. I hope that one day soon I won't need a checklist to ensure I do all of these everyday tasks !
