Day 74 & 75: Still Unsettled
Wednesday October 30 and Thursday October 31, 2024
Here is the link to my original Day 74 and Day 75. It was Monday March 18 and Tuesday March 19, 2019. My headline for those days were The Key To Success and It's Not A Sprint.
I didn't write yesterday as I took the opportunity to go shopping and then had to get ready to go out. I was awake before 9 but lingered in bed scrolling my phone until 10. After I fed the cats and had breakfast I watched some YouTube and played Cookie Jam. Around 11:30 am I headed out to gas up the car and buy groceries. It was a beautiful warm sunny day, so I was happy to be out and about ! I got my gas, stopped at Wegman's for produce and then headed to Walmart to get the remaining items on my list. I got home just after 1 pm, $300 poorer ! I showered, washed my hair and got myself ready to go out. It was just Kim & Joe and I for bingo, but we had a good time ! We came close to bingo a couple times but didn't quite get there ! I got home about 10:20, had my evening snack and then headed to bed.
That brings me to today. I got up about 9, fed the cats and had my breakfast. My stool is still not normal but I am convinced this is some sort of gastritis, likely related to the damage ibuprofen can do. I am going to give it some time and see what happens. Once I secure new insurance, I will find a family doctor and get started with some preventive diagnostics. I'm leaning towards gastritis because as soon as I eat something I can feel it start moving in my digestive tract and I've had gas and bloating. Whatever is going on is not normal, so I know I need to see a doctor soon, if only to ease my mind.
I spent the morning watching YouTube and playing Cookie Jam.
Breakfast was 180 calorie Eggo waffles with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 240 calorie chicken bacon ranch quesadilla with salsa and low fat sour cream. Afternoon snack was 80 calorie cottage cheese and 120 calorie crackers. Dinner was 260 roasted turkey with mashed potatoes and green beans. Evening snack was a 120 calorie oatmeal chocolate chip square with whipped cream.
My first workout was the Lafayette Beach walk and it was complete as of 2:04 pm. This is still the hardest 20m12s of the day, since it's cardio. My heart rate maxed out at 143, which is about where it's been the past couple days. Focusing on my breathing during this workout definitely helps keep the heart rate down !
I took a second look at my benefits selections for 2025 as I realized I hadn't opted in for free vision insurance. I made that change, reviewed the other options and then took a second look at the medical insurance options. Turns out I can get medical through COBRA for 18 months and it's about $577 a month for 2025, so I signed up for that. This means I will stay with Aetna and can now line up some doctor appointments. I checked a couple of family practices and neither were taking new appointments, so I need to do more research on that. By the time I got done farting around with that it was after 5 pm and I hadn't gotten on the treadmill again. I don't think I can get 4 workouts in, but I'm going to try !
It took me until 5:51, but workout #2 is done ! It was 23m41s and it was a repeat of the first workout in Road to Recovery part 2, since the app didn't record it as complete. My heart rate briefly jumped to 175, likely during the extended period of 6% incline !
I did not get a 3rd or 4th workout in. I let the day get away from me and it just didn't happen.
My total workout time today is 43m53s plus 14 minutes of warm up/cool down for a grand total of 71m53s. I'm at 102 workouts for 2024. My goal for 2025 is still 500+ workouts. I completed 9,281 steps and burned 3,003 calories. Not a bad fitness day !
Below is what I achieved today. I am focusing on what I do each day, and not looking back to what I did or didn't do any other day. I hope that one day soon I won't need a checklist to ensure I do all of these everyday tasks !
