Day 134 through 136: Still Alive
I haven't written in a couple days, mostly because life is pretty boring. Well, not really boring. This is typical winter behavior for me. My body and mind goes into hibernation mode.
Monday I had that fall and I am fine. My left knee and hip have given me some twinges, but that is nothing new. It is better each day ! I've taken some Tylenol and that helps without any negative impacts on my digestive tract, which remains stable. My fingers that I pinched are fine too. I have a bump on the outside edge of my left wrist, so I must have hit that on something. It only hurts if you press on it !
So what have I been up to ? Tuesday I went to Walmart to get the things I need to bake cookies tomorrow. I also stocked up on cat food as another winter storm was in the forecast. Tuesday and Wednesday temps were in the 40's and it rained, so all of the snow I got last week melted. We had another winter storm warning in effect as of Wednesday but I decided I wasn't going to miss another night of rock & roll bingo ! I had my usual flatbread pepperoni pizza and 2 Michelob Ultra. Kim won a game and she was so happy about that. She won last week too, so it's 2 in a row for her ! I was 1 away several times, as was Joe. We had fun ! It was drizzly on my way there but on the way home the roads were pretty dry and there was no rain. I did run into snow once I reached Parish and just outside of Parish snow started coming down pretty heavily. I ran out of that about a mile from Mexico. The road wasn't snow covered as it was just starting, so I got home just fine. There was little traffic so I just went at the speed I was comfortable with. By the time I went to bed around midnight the winter storm warning had disappeared. When I got up today the warning was back in place, but like the original warning it's supposed to hit north of me the worst. The warning is until 7 pm on Friday so we'll see what happens. We had a brief bout of flurries this morning but it's nothing more than a coating on the ground. Temps are back in the high 20's and it's windy today, but we're supposed to be back to the 40's by Monday. Temps are a roller coaster right now.
Tomorrow I'll be baking spritz cookies so the plan for today is to clear the decks in the kitchen and make sure everything is clean and ready to go. Saturday I'm going over to Kim & Joe's to help them bake cookies. It's a fun time ! Weather is going to be good, so I'm happy about that.
I did a tiny bit of organizing in the pantry Tuesday but there is still a lot to do. I want to get the floor clear and be able to see what I have on the shelves. There is a fair amount of "junk" that I just need to toss. I'm going to make good use of the empty bins from my office. I also have some plastic bins in the garage that haven't been used in years, so I'm going to bring a couple of those in and use them in the pantry. They need to be washed so I'll do that after cookie day, so probably next week.
Kim & Joe picked out some things for Christmas, so I don't need to shop for them ! I do need to get something for Lauren, Alyssa and Erin. Kim suggested wine for Lauren. I'm thinking gift certificates for Alyssa & Erin. I'll get that done next week. My car also needs an oil change, so I need to do that next time I'm out.
